Wrong place at the wrong time!

Wrong place at the wrong time!

Personally, I am trying hard to avoid falling victim to this clique.

In December, I received a warning vision. I saw a purple-blue forest frosted with white tips. It was so beautiful it looked more like a store-front display than a real winter scene. In the middle of this beauty stood a black-iron gate strangely without a fence. It was somehow a freestanding gate. I understood that it would open only for a few.

“How can this be? And what does it mean?”             “Just because not everyone can enter, doesn’t mean you should.” The Lord counseled.

As always, the Lord knew me better than I knew myself. He was warning me not to jump at an opportunity, even if it had the appeal of being a rare prospect. He knew my personality. That anytime I had to work at something or if the activity seemed to have any exclusivity, I became intrigued.

Then two weeks later, I had another warning dream. I stood on a giant slab of rock that stretched as far as the eye could see behind this rock a river ran through the valley. Suddenly, directly in front of me, a full thirty feet from the river, a row of cattails erupted through the rock. I had an overwhelming feeling of uselessness.

The Lord explained, “Just because it’s hard to get a breakthrough does not mean it’s the right place for you. If you push through something on your own strength without considering My will. I am not obligated to sustain your plan. However, if you are obedient to My promptings, I will provide all things necessary to uplift and equip you.”

I don’t want to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Do we try to break through thinking that anywhere we are not is the best position for us? Never asking if it is what the Lord wants. We only consider what seems right to us or what other people profess is right.

I don’t know about you. But a colossal problem I have is seeing a challenge as something to conquer without stopping to think if it needs conquering. Is it the best use of my time and limited resources? Instead, I open the secluded gate, break through the rock, and then lack the resources to continue. The flow of the living water is too far away for me to access it and live.

I know I need to invite the Lord to direct me to the correct time, location, and position He desires for me. To do anything else is disastrous. Please pray for me that I heed this warning and the specifics of what the warning applies to are revealed.

Have you ever pushed through a gate or broke down a door that should have stayed close? Forcing your way into the wrong place at the wrong time? If so, what did you learn?

Prayer for you and me: Lord Jesus, we desire Your wisdom, which is peaceable. Help us to not lean on our understanding, but to push in for Your direction. As the Alpha and Omega, You are at the end of our journey, direct our every step. We desire your warning for our life. Prevent us from stumbling through and treading where we should not. Grant us Your grace and love for the journey ahead. Thank You for knowing us more than we know ourselves. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spiritually undefiled], then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable [and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile].” (James 3:17, Amp)
