What a Mess!

        What a mess.

That of course I had to clean up, and quickly.

The reason this is a mom confession is that it seems like an easy enough accident. But right before I shook the can I thought to myself, “Is it on tight?” Instead of doing the smart thing and going to get a hammer to make sure it was properly sealed. I just ignored the little warning. Why? The hammer was out in the garage, I’m tired, etc. I have many wonderful excuses. The reality was I created far more work for myself than if I had just done it the right way the first time.

In our spiritual lives we must always listen to the still small prompts. If we don’t, the mess is far too big for us to handle.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Prayer for you and me:

Lord Jesus, We’re sorry we ignore Your warnings and try it our way. Focus, us on Your straight and narrow path so that we don’t stumble. Thank You, for Your faithfulness in our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
