Overabundance poured out

         Overabundance poured out

These are my creeping phlox, which behave just as His word says in overabundance. They give joy to all who pass by, freely with glorious unrestraint.

“And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.” (2 Cor. 9:8 AMP)

This is how I want to live in the—overabundance. I want to freely give as God has given me. However, I often don’t. I hoard my energy and keep it for my family and myself. He says under all circumstances be at the ready to do an overabundant act of charity. I don’t think I can rely on myself to be at the ready. I think that’s the part about being self-sufficient in Him, relying on His still small voice to say; go, listen, love, and touch My beloved. If left to my own devices, I keep my head down and run to the next thing on my to do list. Today I choose to say, I’m available Lord to whatever You desire me to do. Help me hear Your prompting.

I invite you to see each act even the smallest as a good work for the Lord. Allow yourself to feel God’s joy poured out on you as you take part in loving others. Sometimes a smile is enough, a meal-given or a warm embrace around someone in pain. I invite you to picture His face smiling down on you as you listen to Him, and love with overabundance.

Prayer for you and me: Lord Jesus, help us stay in the mindset of overabundance of grace and favor, instead of acting from a faulty pattern of a spirit of lack. Let us see each act, the simple smile, a hand reaching out to hug and to help as a good work from above. Help us reach a deeper level of reliance on You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
