Need to Reconnect
I saw an old-fashioned giant wooden wheel that turned as the river poured over it. It was attached to a structure that collected the energy it created. But then a dark and twisted vine came over the wheel, stopping it from turning and disconnecting it from its source of stability. It could no longer collect energy. The vine had stopped the wheel from fulfilling its purpose.
I asked God, “Help me understand what is happening here.”
“When the wheel is attached to the structure, which represents Me, then things will move with a purpose to complete an assignment. The vine represents confusion of purpose.
Confusion thwarts purpose. You need to get reconnected with Me to know what to do next.”
Then I saw the same wheel detach and sink down through deep waters.
“This represents when you are weighed down by anxiety and worry. In these circumstances, the answer is also to get reconnected to Me.”

When you are stuck and detached from God because of confusion. Don’t be a slave to how you’ve always done things. Your old mode of operations may no longer serve the purpose of your God-given assignment.
You need to reconnect to Me.
You may need new systems, new ways of doing things to meet the assignment that He has given you. Don’t be afraid to walk away from the old to embrace the new.
You may need new routines of study, new methods of praying and worship. You may even need new relationships that draw you closer to God instead of away from Him.
Ditch the old, especially when you see that the old ways are no longer connected to God and His flow of the Holy Spirit, grace, and favor.
Give yourself permission to stop and look at the entire process to determine if you are still connected to the Lord in this or if you’re just spinning wheels.
I must admit that because I am so task-oriented, I often keep pushing instead of taking the time to stop and contemplate, is this even what He wants me to do? Am I stuck because He wants me to look around and take an inventory of where I’m going? Am I stuck because He requires a deeper time of surrendering, which may require prayer and fasting?
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:12-13
Let’s pray for discernment and wisdom to know when to continue and push through. And to know when to let go and receive the next instructions to complete our assignments.Prayer for you and me: Lord, we need Your wisdom and discernment to know where You want us to put our hearts, our hands, and our feet to Your work. We need supernatural wisdom to know the process and systems needed to complete the work. Help us plug in to Your refreshing spirit, Your presence in our life. Help us disengage from those things that are stealing life from us and help us live in a deeper relationship with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Give us discernment Lord, and wisdom. Help us push through to you.
