Lead Them to Christ!
I saw a simple lemonade stand that reminded me of Lucy’s psychiatric stand from the Peanut’s cartoon, where she only charged everyone 5 cents for her advice. The thin cardboard stand looked ready to collapse in so much as a strong wind.
Behind it was a white and blue cloud with the edges on fire. It moved like crashing ocean waves. Watching it, a sense of awe and respect swelled within me.
A person was operating the stand, on the stand directly in front of the wave. I understood her job was to take from the rolling glory- fire cloud and give it to others.
“Why the ridiculous disintegrating stand?” I asked the Lord.
“I wonder the same thing. People often feel the need to create these facades to keep themselves distanced from the people they’re helping. Trying to remain in control while they give out gifts from Me. They desire distance to give them a sense of control.”
I was saddened because it would be more efficient and effective to lead the person to jump into the waves themselves and be fully emerged in His glory.

This had me wondering why we seek to control our world so much? These false facades take effort and energy to create and maintain. What if we just were our genuine selves and took them right to the source? What would we do with all the extra energy?
Self-protection is necessary for life and death situations, but why deploy this emergency protocol when we feel the slightest bit stretched or challenged?
All the hurting people asking for help wants is help. “Sort of Captain obvious” statement, but somehow we bungle it. They aren’t concerned with how we look or any fancy words. They just need us to lead them to the One who can heal all things.
Lead them to Christ.
“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” (Romans, 10:9-10, ESV)
Prayer for you and me:
Lord Jesus, help us let go of what we think we should do and what we think we should look like. Help us do the necessary and good thing to bring those who come for help to Christ. We ask for help to lead them to Christ. Thank You, Jesus.
