It’s Not Us Against Them
I had been praying for the election and the division throughout this country when the Lord showed me this.
I saw a row of tombstones united side-by-side fused together. This row then led backwards for miles. It was a solid block of linked tombstone shaped rock. It looked impenetrable.
“What does this solid mass mean?” I asked.
“This is what the world sees when it sees one group or category of people. Conservative vs. liberal.”
“How can I reach them? I can’t get around this solid block to even see one individual.”
“No, you can’t alone, but I call out individual people one by one at a time. Each one is precious to Me and has their own needs, abilities, lives and destinies.”

The world sees conservatives as one block of people. Liberals as another block. Democrats as one and Republicans as another. There is no room for the concept that people can be individuals with individual needs and thoughts. This is what the enemy wants you to believe. That people can be divided into categories that render them separate from each other. That we can’t relate to each other or reach each other with love and support. Which is a bold face lie.
It's not us against them. We can love people who differ from us and influence them for the good. The Gospel can reach any person regardless of their so-called categories. The Lord knows how to reach people individually. There is no one too far gone for the Lord to reach them.
We don’t get to say we will only communicate with one category of people because that’s who we feel comfortable with or who we can easily relate to.
We can’t fall for the idea it’s us against them.
Our role is to listen to the Holy Spirit and to speak to and pray for those He calls us to. We can’t think of them as the enemy, because they aren’t. Listening to and loving people is what we are called to do. We don’t have to agree with their every thought, but we need to find common ground in Christ.
Each human is created in the image of God and is precious to the Lord. Every person counts.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—(John 1:12, NIV). “
Prayer for you and me: Help us keep our eyes on You and Your eternal plans and not on the divisive world around us. Help us see each individual who you put in front of us how You see them. We desire to be united in Christ instead of divided by lies. Thank You for the mercy You show us. Help us show mercy to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Amen! We desperately need this message right now to see others as individuals uniquely created in God's image.
Hello Heather. We must love everyone, but unity in Christ is not possible with people who call themselves Christians but do not follow Christ's authority in their own lives and mislead others by turning away from sound doctrine. Our battle is not against flesh and blood. We must love people well by calling out lies with grace and not by unifying underneath them. This is false unity and harmful to those who are new in the faith or simply don't spend time reading their Bibles.
