Co-Labor with Christ

Co-Labor with Christ

I saw a sea of brightly colored peacock feathers with giant blue-green dots that looked like eyes. In fact, as they swayed in the wind. I saw they were eyes blinking slowly. It occurred to me these quills weren’t arranged like regular peacock feathers. They formed a sea of plumes rather than clustering around a body.

What was these feathers’ purpose? All they did was sway in the wind.

Without a body, the strange feathers could see, but for what reason?

They couldn’t walk toward a problem. They could see the situation, but do nothing about it. The vision left me with a feeling of futility.

What do you want done, Lord?

I want the body of Christ to operate in obedience. To first see what is happening in the spiritual realm to know how to pray poignantly and then go do the work that needs to be done.

The purpose of the seer gifting, (or prophet that receives the prophecy mostly through a vision not only auditory) is to encourage, exhort, warn, or rejoice in good for and with the body of Christ.

God released all the spiritual gifts in order to carry out the Great Commission.

If we just stay in our own little circle and not go out and help others in the Body of Christ and those not yet saved, we are no better than the peacock feathers swaying in the wind without purpose.

The Lord Jesus allows us to co-labor with Him. Greater still, He empowers us to do so. What greater calling can there be?

Co-Labor with Christ

“What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder, I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.” (1Cor. 3:5-15)

I love how God moves each body part in the rhythm of His great symphony to accomplish His great works.

Why He allows us to be a part of His plan is a mystery.

Co-Labor with Christ

Prayer for you and me: Lord Jesus, we don’t want to be useless things who contribute nothing to the Kingdom of God. Help us walk in immediate and complete obedience to You. We long to hear Your voice and Your voice only. So that we might co-labor with You. Direct our lives, Lord. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
