High Heels!
I saw two high heels sitting on the floor, positioned incorrectly. The right on the left side and the left on the right side. If I was to slip my feet into the high heels as they were positioned, it would hurt horribly.
“Get it right first and then walk. It’s worth your time to get the correct position. The same is true for your mindset. Drop your mindset of man and pick up the mindset of miracles.”

STOP
Get somewhere quiet and contemplate what your current mindset is. When you stop and listen to yourself what are you telling yourself about you and your life?
I had been perseverating on how impossible a situation was. I did not see a way out and was inadvertently limiting God. My prayers were pathetic and lifeless. They lacked any power because they consisted of my laments and not the declaration of Christ’s victory. In His wisdom, He was reminding me that our perspective as Christians is infinitely important.
Has there been times that you’ve caught yourself trying to jam your feet into the wrong high heels? Only to hurt yourself. Ending up worse off than you started.
You wouldn’t be the only one.
It’s so easy to get stuck in our own understanding. I seem to not only get stuck, but there are times I’m literally running around in circles in my mind. Rehearsing what I should have done or perseverating on what someone else should have done or said. I also find myself trying to create solutions from my strength. Which is of course, terribly lacking. The whole mess is all vanity. At the root of this mindset is pride.
“for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’” (Deut. 20:4, ESV)
What a blessed assurance that He will fight for us. It’s almost too good to believe. That when we stay rooted in Him and submit to His will that there will be victory. It might not look, the way we imagine victory will look but we can be assured it’s His best plan.
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4, ESV)
Prayer for you and me: Lord, help me to always walk in Your victory instead of my own shortcomings. Please forgive me for my prideful attitude and for when I get stuck in my own understanding. Be merciful to me and remind me of Your victory on the cross. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Amazing words. Amen!
