You Do Not Have to Be Alone

Series of waterfalls within a garden

I saw a beautiful, silver rain collecting system. It was a series of inverted cones that, as they filled, a pivot point at the wide-mouth top tipped forward spilling into the next cone. It would then swing back and be ready to receive water again.

What a delightful waterfall effect that not only proceeded on a one-line track, but it had multiple tracks that wound together intricately. Providing a mesmerizing effect.

I received this word picture and message for a specific person who I sent this information to, but I felt it applied to many people and so I am posting it here. This is what God had to say to her.

“It isn’t good to be isolated. You need people to pour into you and you into them. I didn’t design you to grow alone. I’ve designed you to give and receive. Both things are necessary."

You do not have to be alone.

The following two scenarios are wrong:

  • To be filled up to overflowing, but never to pour out to others

  • To be in a drought and a time of need and not near people so that they can pour into you.

“You need a community of believers. You are lying to yourself if you don’t think so. Being in a relationship is complex and messy.”

“Daughter, I want you to know. I choose messy every time, and I choose you to be messy with. I desire you to be in love with Me, to be fully seen and known, and to continually deepen your relationship with Me; this will increasingly expose and reveal your inner self within the safety of our relationship. This feels risky, but you can put your trust in Me.”

“I already know your darkest places, and I wait to come in and heal them with you. Don’t wait any longer to decide a relationship with Me is worth it.”

“I choose you. And I will choose you every time.”

You do not have to be alone.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.”—Psalm 103:11

As often is the case when I receive something for someone else, it touches me deeply. I see and feel their need as my own. And I pray accordingly for them. Most of the time, the Lord has me send the message to that person. Rarely is it just for me to pray for them as He instructs.

In this message, I am overwhelmed by the desire of our Father to reach us and do the “messy work” with us and in us. I am so grateful that He chose me, and I responded with a yes.

If you haven’t chosen Him yet. It is worth it.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”—John 3:16

Prayer for you and me: Lord, I often feel chosen last, overlooked, and lonely. Help me overcome my fear and enter a deeper relationship with You and help me find the church community that You have in mind for myself and my family. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
